Apart from achieving a grade A at 'O' level at school in art I am completely self taught. After leaving school at 16 I was employed as an engineering technician leaving the art behind. After almost 20 years in engineering I decided to pick up a pencil and paper again and found portrait drawing to be one of the best ways to relax after a difficult day at the office.

My preferred, in fact only medium, is graphite pencil. I am far more comfortable working in black, white and shades of grey being partially colour blind, but who knows maybe in the future the colour will return to my work.
