I have always had an interest in drawing and painting and, after leaving school, I spent a year on a foundation arts course. Then I travelled abroad, had lots of children and did not continue with the art studies. I carried on painting, however, whenever I could find the time, and have found acrylics to be my preferred medium.
I like to recreate images that I see around me. It takes me several weeks to produce a painting, putting in an hour or two when I can, and I feel a real sense of achievement and pride when the piece is finished.
I have moved about a lot during my lifetime and my paintings depict some of the places and feelings I’ve had for them along the way.
